Baymont Inn & Suites Lake Charles

I really enjoyed by stay, will be staying there again.

Easy check in and check out.

This hotel was a Baymont Hotel which gave me reason to expect more from this particular chain. The rooms were dirty, the beds were terribly uncomfortable, the drains in all the plumbing fixtures were slow to drain, and the location was a tad uncomfortable. I have no problem with simplicity, but cleanliness is a must when traveling. This hotel did not provide clean linen or towels during our stay.

This hotel would not be all that bad if the staff was more friendly and actually followed through with what they said. The room if secluded is nice and spacious. And good thing is its quiet. Make sure you get keys that work and room doesn't smell like a wet carpet! ...read more

This hotel has very easy access from the interstate with a few fast food places nearby and a gasoline/convenience store adjacent. Drawback is it is a noisy neighborhood with loud people who make noise late at night. Communication is not very good. It appears that housekeeping began to clean the room, but then stopped. They packed all toiletries back into luggage; left the beds unmade, removed all towels/washcloths, and did not replace them. When hotel operator was called, there never was an answer. Eventually had to go to lobby to get more towels. Disturbance next door resulted in the police being called by some other tenant. Overall, the hotel has very much potential. Really convenient location. Large room with refrigerator/microwave/iron & board/queen beds. It would be nice if housekeeping cleaned the giant cobwebs from the corners of the room. ...read more

The hotel was dirty, had roaches and smelled. Front desk was not very helpful.

As a business traveler, the breakfast offerings are important as it prevents having to go out prior to beginning the work day. Unless you stay here. The breakfast offerings were poor, no juice, and some sort of boiled egg product which had been previously frozen and now was like a rubber ball full of water. A waffle machine was available and was the only warm offering. The breakfast crowd sat about the room talking about how they disliked their companies for putting them up here. Originally this hotel was, at best, adequate for my travel purposes and a little on the expensive side given the neighborhood that it's in and services provided. Then my fiance and I discovered on the morning we checked out that several hundred dollars worth of her belongings had been stolen. None of my belongings were touched and all of the housekeepers were female, so we can only assume they robbed us since no one other than us entered or had access to our room. I could never get the general manager to return my calls though I tried calling him several times in a two day period. I called their corporate offices and reported it and when the third shift manager that I spoke to found out that I had done this, he refused to speak to me any longer and hung up on me even though their corporate offices said that my contact needed to be kept directly with the hotel until I heard back from them. These people are crooks and I think that some of the hotel management has a part in the theft that, I'm sure, continuously happens there. ...read more
